How to Dress for a Corporate Cocktail Fundraiser

This is the second post in a series about how to dress for various fundraisers. You can read the first post here: How to get dressed for an informal charity benefit.
My husband's job involves a lot of networking events, parties, and charities. This one was a benefit for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at the Carltun in Eisenhower Park. Again, I let the invitation be my guide.

Corporate sponsorship on a weeknight often means corporate dress and the "gambling" theme means a little bit of (Vegas, baby) bling won't be completely out of place. Expect a lot of suits and a lot of little black dresses. I'm not into blending so I prefer to dress down a formal dress instead of dressing up a suit, though both work great.

Right from my Poshmark Closet, I might wear:

  1. Lord & Taylor pink cashmere hooded sweater.
  2. David Fielden silk evening gown.
  3. Emanuel Ungaro pink slides.
But I could also wear:

  1. Helena Sorel lace pinstripe suit.
  2. Prince Kami-Yar clip-on earrings.
  3. Stuart Weitzman evening sandals.

  1. I like that evening gown...too bad I never need to get that dressed up!

  2. That IS too bad! I love getting dressed up. I'll have to introduce you to my BFF, Sasha, sometime. She's having a "Fancy Dress Party" this Saturday. Always love a good chance to give some of my dresses encore performances. :)

Let's dance.
