F21 Jumpsuit & D&G Bag

I've been trying to find the time to get my hair cut by one of my Kaboodle friends but I never get a sizable enough chunk of time to head into the city to do it. So I cut it myself to hopefully hold me over until next month when I probably still won't be able to make the time. Le sigh.

I don't know if you can tell, but I'm wearing the bracelet I posted in my JessLC contest look. I didn't win the contest but, thanks to all of you, I did make the top ten and Jess generously gave me a discount code. I've worn it like three days straight. Also, unprompted, my six-year-old niece was making all of us paper airplanes and then she made a paper chevron instead. Awesome.

I bought this jumpsuit during the F21 for Japan relief thing. I actually wanted to do something more personal (like ship clothes to the people there) but it seemed like they weren't really ready for anything but basic subsistence yet, so I did this stupidly small, slightly selfish thing instead. I am, as always, helpless to the pull of things with pockets. I took out the hideous belt this came with and I'll probably remove the belt loops, too, because they're enormously wide and unnecessary but I just hid them under the scarf for today. I might also experiment with turning it into a one-shoulder style top.

There go my Jeffrey Campbell wedges in action again. It really is ridiculous how comfortable they are.

The bag is D&G, by the way. My mother-in-law asked me if I wanted it and somehow I fell deeply, immediately in love. It's so big. And white. And has handles AND a strap. Could there be a better beginning to a love story?

  1. I love the polka dot sash/belt- it adds just the right touch and gives the jumper such a different look :)

  3. You prove with this shot that only one pic is required when it is rich enough to say it all.
I could spend hours looking at it.
Your outfit, your shoes ( I want, want them). The mirror behind you, the lamp, books, ahhhhhhhhh ( sigh of joy)
My daughter will have no hairdresser near her, she always has done her hair. I have a friend who does it for me.

  4. Awesome shoes!! Ooh, and you are rocking the Scarf as Belt look. I love it! I've been wanting to try that. If you do modify the jumpsuit to be one-shoulder, I hope you'll post the "after" pics! I love it as it is but I think your idea would be lovely, too.

  6. You make everything look amazing. I love your style and this outfit is no exception. Am jealous over the D&G bag. Sounds like from all your posts you really lucked out in the mother in law category lol.

  7. BIG fan of this look! It's perfection! And I still can't believe you cut your own hair. I cut my own bangs, but I don't dare to cut the rest--and it needs it! :)

  8. Thank you so much, everyone.

@Kelley - She really is great. My mom's no slouch, either. I really believe in only associating with the best people on the planet whenever possible and I definitely consider myself lucky to do so.

@Adiel - I never have fear with this. I'd like a proper cut very much but my hair is unnaturally easy to hide mistakes in so it never mattered if I made one and now it's so easy to do. Sometimes I grow my hair out for years and then wake up one morning and need it all gone. (But I doubt I'll let it get long ever again. It's too thin.) I figure I can always ask some poor hairdresser to correct any mistake I make if I do something truly catastrophic. So far it hasn't been a problem.

@VictorianKitty - You bet, I'll post it if I decide to do it. I'm a huge fan of scarves as belts. I find them much comfier than rigid traditional belting. (And I love the excess of fabric trailing down.) Can't wait to see if you rock one of your new scarves as a belt.
